Privacy Policy for My Name’s
Last updated: March 16, 2026
At My Name’s, we believe that professional connections are a form of private capital. We’ve built this application with a 'Privacy by Design' architecture, ensuring you have total control over who sees your data and how your contacts are managed.
11. Information Collection and Usage
We collect information necessary to provide and maintain our Service. This is divided into two categories: Public Profile Data and Local CRM Data.
- Public Profile: Information you voluntarily provide for your digital card, including your name, photo, job title, company, and links to your social media or messenger profiles.
- Account Data: To secure your account, we collect your email address or phone number through Firebase Authentication.
- Technical Data: We collect anonymous technical information (device model, OS version, performance logs) to ensure stability.
22. Your Contacts Under Your Control
We do not keep a server-side copy of your personal address book: the contacts you import or manage in the app are stored on your device. If someone you added is a registered My Name’s user, the app may fetch that person’s latest public digital card—the fields they chose to publish—so you can refresh their details in your local CRM. That is not an upload of your whole contact list; it is a download of their public profile into your on-device record.
- You may add people via the native OS picker (select specific contacts) or, if you choose, import your full address book in one step—either way, those records are written only to local storage on your device.
- We do not receive, store, or mirror your full contact database in the cloud; there is no hosted replica of your address book on our servers.
- We do not upload your contact list from the device to our systems in the background.
- Registered contacts: when the Service recognizes that a local entry is linked to a My Name’s account, you can update that entry from their published profile data. Your private notes, tags, and the rest of your CRM stay local; only the other user’s public card information is retrieved to refresh that one record on your device.
33. Camera Access and QR Codes
To facilitate instant sharing and contact exchange, the App requires access to your device's camera.
- Usage: The camera is used exclusively to scan QR codes within the App.
- Privacy: We do not record, store, or transmit any photos or videos from your camera to our servers. Processing happens locally in real-time.
44. Local Storage and Privacy (Hive_CE)
Your imported contacts and professional context (notes, private tags, etc.) are stored locally on your device using Hive_CE database technology—not as a cloud backup of your CRM. Refreshing a registered contact uses only that person’s public profile; the merged result still lives in your local database.
- Contacts and private metadata: Your CRM rows, notes, and 'Smart Tags' remain on your device. Optional updates for registered users apply published profile fields to the matching local entry only—they do not replace our policy of not hosting your full address book.
- Encryption: Local data is protected by the OS sandbox architecture, making it inaccessible to other apps.
- No server-side CRM: We do not collect your contacts as a whole and do not maintain a copy of your address book on our central servers.
55. Third-Party Service Providers
We utilize reputable third-party infrastructure. By using My Name's, you also agree to their privacy terms:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore, and Analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Cloud Hosting: Public Web-Viewer profiles are hosted on secure servers with industry-standard encryption (HTTPS).
66. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we immediately delete this from our servers.
77. Your Rights and Data Deletion
You have full control over your data. You can access, edit, or delete your information at any time.
- In-App Deletion: You can delete your account and all profile data directly within the app settings.
- Web-Based Deletion: In compliance with Google Play Policy, you may request data deletion without re-installing the app via our Official Deletion Request Form.
